Epson 2000 storage of DNGs question

Nope, you won't be able to see the DNGs. It will save them on the drive but you can't previwe them on screen. You will see the related JPGs.

I love mine, it's been great.

I remember reading that the Epson 2000 hard drive storage unit will store but not display DNG files. If you save both DNG and JPEG can you then view the JPEGs? Are there any other workarounds to allow viewing?

So with DNG and JPEG I will be able to view images, zoom in etc on the JPEG mode, if I understand correctly. In other words it is fully functioning so I don't really care if I am looking at the images as JPEGS or the DNGs. Am I missing something?

If your primary aim, like mine, is to store digital images safely until transferred to more permanent media and are satisfied with any means of identification (viz jpeg), there is no problem with the P2000.

You should take a look at the newer 3000/5000 Epson storage devices. Supposedly they will display DNG files and allow you to zoom in on them. I'm going to wait until the holiday rush is over and do a test a Samy's with my own SD card and M8 DNG's.
