Advertisement Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Hi Guest willjanurgucken2000, Take a look here the pod blue. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
braza2013 Posted April 22, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 22, 2010 I would recommend the red pod. I find it's a perfect support for my M8.
wparsonsgisnet Posted April 22, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 22, 2010 This is an interesting accessory and I have thought it a delightful device since I first read about it. It does, however, weigh a pound and I think if I planed to carry that much weight and something of this size, I'd opt for the little Leica tripod and ball-head. this device is not only *beautiful* (yeah, what's with these guys, anyway?) but can also be used in vertical positions. wstotler Posted April 22, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 22, 2010 I think if I planed to carry that much weight and something of this size, I'd opt for the little Leica tripod and ball-head. +1 - I agree with braza2013--go for the red pod in terms of size. It's so cheap you could buy both and keep the one you like! Big picture, I'm with Bill on this one. I recommend the Leitz (original) tabletop tripod and ball head for weight, size, stability, and flexibility for different ways of working--chest-shooting (rifle-ish style) in low light, holding it against a wall tight and shooting sideways, etc. Build quality is outstanding--mine is decades old (feels like early 60s) and looks/functions all but new. Ah. But the price. Lovely, but expensive. Thanks, Will
wparsonsgisnet Posted April 23, 2010 Share #5 Posted April 23, 2010 They are the Italian boutique shoe for your Leica. The function and design of this tripod are so near magical as to have to be called a Leica product. I remember being shown my first one by a proud owner (and non-Leica user) in 1977. At that time, I was still the parent of young boys -- so still no toys for me. I got this tripod a few years ago on eBay and feel like a wizard among muggles.
