kalina Posted April 20, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 20, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was in Eastern Mountain Sports today intent on buying a duffel bag when I happened to notice fanny packs in the same section. "They still make these?" I said to myself, so I bought one because I kind of miss my old one. When I brought it back to my office, I looked at it more closely and thought, "No way." I had my M8 handy and put it in the fanny pack and it fit with room to spare. My M8 has a 35mm Summicron, but I doubt there would be any problems with fit if I had my 50mm Summilux on it. For $25 for the small fanny pack, this offers a convenient way of keeping your M8 on your hip at all times. It is quick and easy to open with two zippers on top so you can get your M8 out in seconds. Comes in dark gray, khaki green, or orange. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! ottocrat Posted April 21, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 21, 2010 Looks practical, and let me immediately apologise on behalf of the entire British Isles for sniggering whenever we hear the term "fanny pack"...
Symeon Posted April 21, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 21, 2010 Do you keep the camera strap on or not? It would make it a bit hard to pull the camera out with the strap rolled around it, won't it? And perhaps this is how one loses a candid shot, isn't it? regards

And perhaps this is how one loses a candid shot, isn't it? regards No, the camera strap gets folded up and placed on top of the camera after the camera is inserted into the pouch. It all fits with room to spare.

ottocrat Posted April 22, 2010 Share #7 Posted April 22, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) "Snickering"? That sounds like something unmentionable that you'd do with a chocolate bar! Or is it connected to underwear? I like "carrying pouch", it's decently mid-Atlantic. Over on this side we'd call it a 'bum bag' but that's probably not much better than 'fanny pack' for those of a nervous disposition.
jlindstrom Posted April 23, 2010 Share #8 Posted April 23, 2010 Over here in the nordics we'd call it a "disgrace" It luckily went out of fashion fast and that was a long time ago... I guess the OP was more worried about practical than being in fashion and for that the "hip pag" (just had to try and figure another term for it) looks ok'ish. And Ottocrat, you leave my favourite chocolate bar alone! Personally I'd just go for a small messenger bag.
jlindstrom Posted April 24, 2010 Share #9 Posted April 24, 2010 Just had to reply to my own "disgrace message".. Life sure has funny ways of getting back at you. My wife just got back home from a shopping spree @local sale. Guess what she got me "for cheap"? That's right - a disgrace bag! yeep yep yep, I'll carry my cross - feel free to throw some tomatoes

shootinglulu Posted May 1, 2010 Share #12 Posted May 1, 2010 I've just ordered a 15'' for my leica and 19'' for my slr. I hope that's right. The slr wrap will also serve to wrap other Leica lenses. Cheers Lucy
