RevDice Posted April 19, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 19, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I picked up the Leica 24SD Flash... a great little unit. I want to get it off camera and still be able to use the TTL function. Is there a flash Sync Cord that anyone knows of that will work? I've done some searches and turned up nothing. Thanks in advance for any help...

lars_bergquist Posted April 19, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 19, 2010 You can do this with any Nikon-compatible 'system' cord. Chose one, like the SC-19, without an extra flash head on the part that goes on the camera. That would be useless without a Nikon flash. What is more, if you can find one of those wrist straps that are meant to screw into a small camera's tripod bushing, it will also screw into the end part that attaches to the flash, This means that you can have the use of your left hand if you need it occasionally for something else than holding the flash unit, because you can temporarily let go of it. Another possibility is the new Nissin SC-01 cord. It is just like the older Nikon cords, but it is compatible with most systems -- I have tried it on my M9 only -- and it has in fact an accessory shoe on the camera piece that can be used for your optical finder, or even for an optional extra flash unit. A small one with optical slave capability would work nicely. The old man from the Age of Flashpowder
