Reed - thanks for taking the time to comment. I agree on the East/West - sunrise/sunset comment. I also agree on the B+W impact.

 

Jacques - Thanks for the warm words.

 

William - I usually have too many irons in the fire...there aren't always enough hours in the day. I think I must have sharpened the first one more, I can't remember. I think the first is probably closer to what was there, a little too much magenta though...it looks like I took a little too much out. It doesn't really look right yet...

 

Azzo - Thanks for taking the time to comment.

 

Pete - Your opinion regarding composition is valuable, thanks for the compliment. I'm not surprised you prefer the B+W one :-) Cheers.

The first one does it for me, I know I couldn't do it with my D2. Way too sharp. Great shot.

And taken with a 50 year old lens no less... I have to disagree though, regarding D2 sharpness...the D2 is no slouch:
