prk60091 Posted April 16, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Currently my dlux4 is running firmware 1.2. I am going on holiday soon is there any issue with upgrading to 2.2? Am I missing anything by not upgrading? Will I be sorry if I upgrade? Thanks in advance. Advertisement Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Hi prk60091, Take a look here Dlux4 firmware. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted April 17, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 17, 2010 No reason not to upgrade. It gives some new capabilities (like a broader range of exposure compensation). From the same page as offers the firmware upgrade itself, you can and should download the instructions for the new and extended functionality. That'll tell you whether there's anything there you want. You don't lose any capability in the new firmware, and you'll probably find some of the new features useful. Enjoy! I read about some issues in I guess it was in 2.1 & never followed up. I usually jump eyes closed to upgrades new devices etc (eg I am typing this on my ipad.). So I'm not sure why I never upgraded. thanks all

artyca Posted April 20, 2010 Share #9 Posted April 20, 2010 lazaruz, if you check the leica website, the upgrades are pretty comprehensive for the firmware update 2.2. You might want to consider upgrading the firmware before your holiday trip. Leica Camera AG - New Firmware Version 2.
flappo Posted April 21, 2010 Share #10 Posted April 21, 2010 My D4 arrived w/ 2.2 fw already on it. Amazing bit of kit , must say , very impressed so far. Although not terribly impressed with Amazon and the way they split their orders up. Camera arrived in one shipment , then the case in another. Still waiting for the SD card to arrive !! So much for 'group all orders together as much as possible' option..
ho_co Posted April 21, 2010 Share #11 Posted April 21, 2010 Congratulations! It's a great little camera which I'm sure you'll enjoy.
flappo Posted April 21, 2010 Share #12 Posted April 21, 2010 Thanks for the warm welcome ! Yes , the camera is amazing , really impressed. I was always into Canon's , having gone from Eos-1 35mm ( a looong time ago ) to digital canon's quite a few years ago. No longer.. HD video is impressive and the wide angle and low light ability blows me away , especially in such a TINY package. I took a photo in my brother's bedroom / cinema room in pitch black hand held and it came out pretty sharp with no flash @ 1/8 sec ! I just can't get over how camera's have advanced in the last few years
Clickie McPete Posted May 15, 2010 Share #13 Posted May 15, 2010 Hi Folks, I just got this amazing little camera yesterday and have already spent many happy hours playing with it. Question: Mine arrived with firmware version 1.1 on it. I just downloaded the 2.2 update but can't figure out how to get it onto the camera. It just says DXL4_22.bin When I click on it it says windows cannot open the file. Thanks.
