milsu Posted May 31, 2007 Share #21 Posted May 31, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey, today, after three months of waiting, I have received my Nikon Coolscan V ED! It looks so cute. I have installed it, just to make sure it works, but now I will read the manual first, before I start to scan films.

jacksparrow Posted May 31, 2007 Author Share #22 Posted May 31, 2007 I'm sure you'll love it (I do). You just need some patience, specially if you are using all the tweaking available in the Nikon software (GEM, ROC, ICE etc. etc.) that increase exponentially the time for each scan. I usually choose the pic(s) and do batch scanning, otherwise it's a lot of time wasted just looking at the monitor. Other than that, I'm VERY happy with it. Now comes part two of my best laid plan: learning to develop B&W myself: then I will feel almost as autonomous with film as I am with digital.
