Advertisement Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Hi martinis, Take a look here Do Leica still do in store cames clinics?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tobey bilek Posted April 13, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 13, 2010 I have not seen one for 25 years. The man now in charge of customer service in New Jersey stripped a persons camera down on the store counter, repaired/adjusted, reassembled. Usually they only clean and check, but someone got luckey. Now you don`t even get a really knowledgeable sales rep at "Leica Days" and they are spread over 4x the area as in 1985. In the 80`s, I knew the rep and he knew me. We hardly went a month without meeting. Leica used to run educational seminars and do presentations a la Walter Benser and Walter Heun in the 1980`s at the end of his career. Today you can`t get a lollypop out of them.
bybrett Posted April 13, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 13, 2010 No, but there are Workshops at Leica Store Mayfair... I declare my conflict of interest. We don't give out lollypops. http://www.leica-storemayfair.co.uk/leica-akademie/leica-akademie.html
Guest BigSplash Posted April 16, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 16, 2010 No, but there are Workshops at Leica Store Mayfair... I declare my conflict of interest. We don't give out lollypops. Leica Camera AG - Akademie I have been on one of Brett's courses and despite 30 years of using Leica M's I learned a huge amount over a period of just two hours with Brett. He explained how to handle white balance in tricky interior shots, and set manual Kelvin temp. plus set -1/3EV and other things that have come with digital cameras . I cannot recommend Brett's course highly enough if you want to enjoy and take control of a M8 or M9 rather than just set auto everything!
