Blue Blobs appear on M8 Night shots

Hi,

I have taken my M8 out for some night shots today, and found that there was some blue blobs appearing randomly in photos. So when I took the IR cut filters off, and shot the same scene, they were gone. I was wondering if anyone els had the same experience.

 

I just got my M8 back from Solms after 3 month of repair for dead pixels issue. I hate to send it back again, it seems that this camera is out of action more than it is in action.

 

Heres a sample shot of the blue blob issue, the second photo has a blue blob on the lower right corner, they appear at random locations.

Don't worry, that is absolutely normal and caused by internal reflections on the UV/IR filter.

You will see that the blobs are diametrically corresponding to highlights (in your example, the street light).

Only solution is to take the filter off for those shots.
