arnold kaufman Posted April 10, 2010 Share #6 Posted April 10, 2010 Very nice photo for just fooling around, cant wait to see your serious work.I am wondering if the Noct. is the 0.95 version shot @ F1.0? I have used both versions and little difference for me to tell apart the photos taken with each. This is a image shot with the 0.95 Noct of my daughter in law to be.I must admit the lens is very tricky to use for me, any words of wisdom except pratice alot. I love both Noct. lenses. Yep-- 1) try a magnifier. It doesn't work for everyone, but it does for me I like the 1.25x 2) sweet spot for effect vs focal coverage for the shot you've shot will be f1.6... don't worry, it will still look like a nocti 3) practice...a lot

Have you tried "body focussing"? Once you have established rough focus, and instead of trying to achieve perfect focus by turning the ring further, just move the upper part of your body very slightly back and forth until you get there. It's faster and more accurate most of the time - at least for me.

I do use the 1.4 magnifier which helps a lot. 2. I will try F1.6 to see the result, but it seems this defeats the 0.95 intended purpose. 3. Love this lens so I intend to pratice constantly. Thank you for the advice. Arnold
