Sorry to hear that. You might want to register your gear as stolen at this site. I don't know much about their business model (make sure to read their terms of use) since I haven't entered anything myself yet, but I usually check there before buying any used gear.

Wow I'm very sorry to hear that. :(

Out of topic a bit: I didn't know you can get them insured, but I sure hope you did..

There was a detailed a discussion about insurance about six weeks ago so do a search. Call your homeowner policy (or if pro, you business carrier). I insured mine and two lenses for about $200 a year. If you travel, it is worth the small cost.

Go to the Police and reported the theft (at any Comisaría de Policía at the downtown), including your serial number and a telephone number and email for contact purposes.

The City Council has a lost and found properties office (Oficina de Objetos Perdidos, Ayuntamiento de Madrid). Leave a written complain there as well, describing the camera and including the serial number and phone/email contact data.

Report the serial number to Leica, with a copy of the report to the Police. Ask them to alert you if the camera go to Solms for repairing or so.

I would recommend to you to write a post at this forum:

m8 primeras imagenes • Página principal

It is a Spanish forum for rangefinder cameras, and there are some people leaving in Madrid there. If they see something they will contact you.

Another recommendation: go to Fotocasión, the largest store in Madrid, and leave a copy of the police report to José Luis Mur (the owner). If someone tries to sell him the camera, he will call the police.

The camera may be sold at eBay, but also at http://www.segundamano.es/ Take a look.

That's all you can do now.

I am very, very sorry for you.
