mrk_webber Posted April 4, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was wondering if anyone could advice on the cleaning of a lens internally. It seems that my 50mm has one or two internal dust spots. I would love to get rid of them. Send them to Solms? A good repair service in Europe? - I live in Paris, France. Thank you very much. spydrxx Posted April 4, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 4, 2010 One or two internal dust flecks are irrelevant. If you have a gigantic wallet, send the lens to a specialist for cleaning...otherwise hold off until the lens needs cleaning.
diogenis Posted April 4, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 4, 2010 Just forget that it's there. Save the cash for a trip for fun, and a reason to shoot more. The dust particle is way too small and way too far from the sensor to matter at all your photography. Actually there are tons of dust in the air, right after that lens of yours, and we don't bother. We breathe dust. Oh and avoid cleaning that lens. Unless you know what you are doing you risk doing more damage on that coating than leaving it as it is
