bsphotomac Posted April 2, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 2, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm having problems coding this lens on my M8. All other lenses will code correctly (CV15mm, CV21mm, CV28mm, CV75mm work correctly) but the CV40mm will not code with any configurations. Tried shifting patterns CW and CCW and the M8 will not see the code pattern. Using M-Coder clip-on marking template. Any thoughts?

uptong Posted April 2, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 2, 2010 lens needs a small modification to bring up correct framelines (35mm) for code to work there are instructions around on the net showing what needs to be done, involves filing approx 1m from the lug that activates frame line cam. lens then rigs up 35mm framelines and 35 code works perfect. be warned can affect resale value
bsphotomac Posted April 2, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted April 2, 2010 How does the coding work with the frame lines? The frame lines are mechanical and the coding is read through the leds. Does the camera's firmware correlate coding with frame lines mechanical settings?

Does the camera's firmware correlate coding with frame lines mechanical settings? Yes, needs 'right' framelines display and coding to work. There are a number of threads on this subject if you do a search through that will explain all.
