potratz Posted April 1, 2010 Author Share #21 Posted April 1, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am what you would call a die hard Mac user or actually an Apple Groupie. I think where I run into issue with Aperture 3 is thinking it is a step above iPhoto and I consider Adobe to be the father of digital. However I love the ease and layout of Aper 3....decisions
Advertisement Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Hi potratz, Take a look here Lightroom or Aperture? M9 Owners. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest ccmsosse Posted April 1, 2010 Share #22 Posted April 1, 2010 Mac Book Pro, LR 2.6 and CS4 - love it I didn't see why to spend money if LR is free - works great
jonoslack Posted April 1, 2010 Share #23 Posted April 1, 2010 Aperture 3 . . . even some anguish changing libraries, and much time spent with LR3 beta failed to persuade me to switch. Now I'm falling in love with Aperture all over again I also use Nik plugins with it, but less and less with the new brushes options.
jlancasterd Posted April 1, 2010 Share #24 Posted April 1, 2010 I am using Lightroom, and sometimes Bridge and Photoshop. Ditto... I've used Lightroom more or less since it was first introduced, having become thoroughly disillusioned with the poor user interface of Capture One. I'm hoping I may be able to use my (so far unused) M9 subscription to upgrade to LR3 when the definitive version appears.

I hope you are correct, for all our sakes. I recently purchased a D-Lux 4 with a new C1 V4 license, and they wanted me to upgrade to Version 5, for Big bucks... I hope Adobe is more generous. My experience in the past is they are not... but I could be just a pessimist.

winmore Posted April 2, 2010 Share #28 Posted April 2, 2010 You can force Aperture to open originally and stay in 32-bit mode so you don't get that switching issue. At this point I haven't found a compelling reason to need 64-bit mode on my Mac Pro, even though I have a Radeon HD 4870 which I think is compatible with the higher bit mode. Select Aperture in Finder - "Get Info" (Cmd-I) - select "Open in 32-bit mode" in the "General" section. Thank you Racefan. Saves time when I want to access Nik plugins. Cheers Ron
