andalus Posted March 30, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 30, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) New M9. Just setting it up. Battery charged. New firmware in camera done. In "Menu" 4 selections are not available. Color Management, Congtrast, Sharpening, Color Saturation. ALSO, I can't figure out how to set JPEG stuff. I do have an menu item I can get to when I hit set: called DNG set up, but after I hit set, I see only 2 selection, compressed or uncompressed. No sign of anything having to do with JPEGS. If something wrong here? (Except my brain) Please give me step by step instructions on how to activate these other menu items and ALSO JPEG stuff. Thanks Much, A dumb Newbie
Advertisement Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Hi andalus, Take a look here Ok guys and gals - help me out. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ezc203 Posted March 30, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 30, 2010 No problem at all. DNG just means you'll be tweeking those 4 options in post, as opposed to setting in camera editing (in which case you would need to set those options). If you chose DNG + JPEG then you can edit those 4 options in camera.
adan Posted March 30, 2010 Share #3 Posted March 30, 2010 Get out of the "Menu" mode - (blank LCD) and THEN press "Set" - that gives you a short one-screen menu for choosing JPEGS or DNG or both ("Compression") as well as WB. Once you've picked any compression mode that includes a JPEG, the COntrast, Sharpening, Saturation and Management lines in the main menu will cease being gray and become available. Shade Posted March 30, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 30, 2010 If you want to set the contrast/sharpness/saturation... you have to set your file capture into JPEG Fine/Basic. To change it, press SET button, and then look at the DNG line, and PRESS SET again, and then you can change it to JPEG. Then hit MENU, and then change the sharpness/saturation/contrast as you please.
