I am disappointed with Leica - NJ service

Hi,

 

Unfortunately, I dropped my Leica M9 with the 35mm F1.4 on 2/28 during my daughter's fencing competition. the M9 said "shutter error" when I switched on the camera and the 35mm lens has a double vision when I read through the view finder. My dealer sent the camera and the lens to Leica service center in NJ the very next day. the goods new is that they can be fixed in NJ and both the camera will be ready by 3/20. when I called on 3/20, they said only the camera will be ready by 3/24 and the lens has to be later. on 3/24, they said they can only "get to" the M9 on 4/5 and the lens later. they were not specific what mean by will get to the M9 by 4/5? anyway, I am kind of run out of patient but I got no choice. will call my dealer next week to get an update

If you search, you will find many links addressing the service issues with NJ. I for one had a serious front focusing camera out of the box. All I can say is be patient- they do good work, but they definitely do not work at the speed of Solms.
