thinkfloyd Posted March 31, 2010 Share #21 Posted March 31, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I got this email today..... luckily I still had the 2 bar code labels they requested and emailed a pic to them. "Thank you for registering your camera. For shipping the two filters for free we need to have a copy of your cameras warranty card (the page with the two bar code labels on). Please send it by mail, fax or e-mail. I am very grateful for your help." I got this message yesterday too as well, problem is, I left the box and all warranty cards down at my parents house... hopefully when I visit them this Easter, I'll be able to find it... Advertisement Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Hi thinkfloyd, Take a look here Free Filters for M8. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
RobQ5 Posted March 31, 2010 Share #22 Posted March 31, 2010 I got the same message from Leica about providing a copy of the warranty card. Duly forwarded it. Was told that external service providers would be shipping the filters. Eagerly awaiting mine.
garypasz Posted March 31, 2010 Share #23 Posted March 31, 2010 How would you know if you are not eligible for the free filters? I got my M8 second hand, and just for the sake of it, I tried registering and was able to. I ordered two filters and I was sent an email saying that it will be sent. Does this mean the first owner never registered the camera? When you login into owners area Theres a tab named Benefits. If no ones has used your M8 serial numbers before you will be able to order up to 2 different size UV/IR filters. But if serial number already used (then this area will be blank and not let you order them)
thinkfloyd Posted April 4, 2010 Share #24 Posted April 4, 2010 I was able to get the benefits from the Leica site, however, I got an email asking to send in a copy of the warranty card. I checked the box, and there's no warranty card. Though there is a receipt for repair (fix circuit board, cleaning, adjusting, etc.) in the box. I'm thinking, the warranty card has been submitted for repair? What can I do to avail the filters? Thanks!
Johnny_Johnson Posted April 4, 2010 Share #25 Posted April 4, 2010 Hi Franz, In my case, without a warranty card, I was asked to send a photo of the hot shoe showing the serial number of the camera. Later, Johnny

offspring Posted April 13, 2010 Share #28 Posted April 13, 2010 can someone post the website link?
I love my M8 Posted April 13, 2010 Author Share #29 Posted April 13, 2010 can someone post the website link? I am cutting and pasting a response I gave to another Forum member which hopefully will point you in the right direction. "I registered my camera on the Leica site (first you have to register so that you can log on and register your camera and any other equipment). I think perhaps you have got this far? Once that has been successful, go to the benefits tag at the top of the screen and you should be able to apply for your two free filters. You will then get email confirming order and you may then get another email asking you to fax or email a copy of the camera warranty card. Start at this link https://owners.leica-camera.com/en/login "
