Guest joewehry Posted March 17, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted March 17, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Any recommendations for film development in Berlin? Â Decided to do a "film" trip and leave the M8 at home, but would like to get daily development to see how the images are coming along rather than wait to come back to NYC. Â Some of the C41 I can probably find a quick-lab, but others are Pan F and 125 PX and Ektar color that might need some extra care. Â Recommendations / suggestions appreciated. Advertisement Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Hi Guest joewehry, Take a look here Film Lab in Berlin. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
veraikon Posted March 17, 2010 Share #2  Posted March 17, 2010 C41 Quicklab shouldn´t be the problem. Take that one next to your location. For b&w try it at fotoimpex. - Fotoimpex Berlin | alles für die analoge Fotografie - (They changed their lab + delivery department - ask them before via email)
Xmas Posted March 17, 2010 Share #3 Â Posted March 17, 2010 Take Xp2 or similar Fuji or Kodak, or buy same in Berlin. Â Noel

Guest joewehry Posted March 23, 2010 Share #5 Â Posted March 23, 2010 Thanks again for recommendation for fotoimpex in Berlin. I had to rush in at the last minute and they were great developing the film and burning to cds. The staff was very helpful despite my horrid attempts at Deutsch sprechen. Very convenient one stop away from Alexanderplatz although i usually just ended up walking over. Cheers.
plasticman Posted March 24, 2010 Share #6 Â Posted March 24, 2010 Excellent place apparently! Just looked at their pricelist and one thing that struck me was that they sell Holga cameras (can I mention a plastic camera on this forum?) for around 39 euros. When I was in Barcelona over the winter they were selling them there for 99!

Guest joewehry Posted March 24, 2010 Share #8 Â Posted March 24, 2010 Oh yes, and also forgot to mention PixelGrain on Rosenstrasse who did some processing and prints before I could head up to Fotoimpex and, in a pinch, the fast photo place off Karl-Liebknech parallel to Alexanderplatz was fast and affordable. Even the fast photo place did great C41 scans better and cheaper than some pro labs in NYC. (no dust or scratches on the neg / scans!) Pro or consumer, these vendors care about the quality of their work. Note, not all places take credit cards, so expect to pay in cash.
dicko101 Posted March 25, 2010 Share #9 Â Posted March 25, 2010 I would recommend FotoImpex solely on their brilliant range of film! Try some exotic BW like Adox CMS20 if you get the chance. I got my BW dev'd there and my colour stuff dev'd at print works (printworksberlin.de). Great results for a reasonable price. Certainly Berlin is half the price of Paris. Guest joewehry Posted March 28, 2010 Share #10 Â Posted March 28, 2010 Agree with recommendation re: the film choices at PhotoImpex. I currently have some Adox from them in my M4 right now, with just a few frames left before processing. Can't wait.
