Nigel_Meaby Posted March 16, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 16, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) When attaching a lens to my M8.2 I've noticed it's very tight compared to my film M. With some lenses it's quite a job to get the lens to "click" securely on so that the correct framelines come up. I bought it used but it was virtually new. Is it because the mount is basically new and with use will wear "less tight" or do I have a problem? When I bought it the previous owner hadn't registered it so Leica very kindly provided me with a one and half year passport so if it's a fault, repair would be no problem. holgerf Posted March 16, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 16, 2010 It’s normal. After three years of use my M8 still is much stuffer than my M6. Best Holger

menos I M6 Posted March 18, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 18, 2010 I found this too. It seems normal - when Leica "tightened" the bright lines, they seemed to tighten the mount as well ;-) Leica M6/ M7 - smooth, easy mounting, no extra effort, no play either. EPSON R-D1 - smooth, easy mounting, no extra effort, some play (lens can be moved slightly off axis after mounting). Leica M8.2 - substantially more effort, to click the lens in - some lenses seem to be harder (my 28 Cron is the hardest, to lock, the well used 35 Cron moves into lock easily).
