griffster Posted March 16, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 16, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sorry, this is not really a Leica related question, but I just can't be bothered to register at some other forum just for this one question. I was just wondering, since the sensor on a m4/3 seems to be half-frame (2x crop factor for all(?) lenses) and the original Pen F is a half-frame camera, will those Pen F lenses function without any crop factor on m4/3 cameras? Advertisement Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Hi griffster, Take a look here Pen F lens on Micro 4/3 . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
spydrxx Posted March 25, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 25, 2010 You're missing the concept of cropping. Irrespective of the lens attached, cropping takes place...it is a function of the sensor size, not the lens attached.
griffster Posted March 25, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted March 25, 2010 Yeah, I guess I'm just too lazy to go look for the size of the (m)4/3 sensor. But theoretically speaking, if the sensor is the same size as half a 24x36mm exposure, then the lens would be used 1:1 right? But then doesn't the Pen F take vertical pictures?
