michaelbrenner Posted March 14, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted March 14, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) For those of you who have (or will eventually have) both the X1 and the D-Lux 4, what sort of on-going role do you see for the D-Lux 4 in your camera repertoire, since you will have the X1? robert-gregory Posted March 15, 2010 Share #2 Â Posted March 15, 2010 I don't plan on getting an X1 having bought an M9 (did think about the X1), but I think the two features that still have meaning are: HD video, and the fast/wide zoom lens
Guest ccmsosse Posted March 15, 2010 Share #3 Â Posted March 15, 2010 I don't plan on getting an X1 having bought an M9 (did think about the X1), but I think the two features that still have meaning are: HD video, and the fast/wide zoom lens I am tempted - I too own a M9, but wouldn't mind a small cam for "ever day" use (leave it in the car kinda thing... For me the M9 is it, but I can't always have it with me - still too nervous to leave it in the car despite insurance - - I own the Lumix GF1, but the images can't stand up to the Leica .... The GF1 is now "my car camera".....
soleforeal Posted March 15, 2010 Share #4 Â Posted March 15, 2010 Originally, I was going to sell the D Lux 4. I received the leather case for Christmas so I'm keeping it for video and shots for convenience.
jpmac55 Posted March 15, 2010 Share #5 Â Posted March 15, 2010 Subject to change but I always keep the Dlux4 in my briefcase. I'll probably keep it for bike rides, canoe outings, etc. at least until the newness of the X1 wears off. Â The video feature is nice on the Dlux4 but never use it. Of course if I sell the camera, that's when I'll wish I had a video option.
inunnguaq Posted March 15, 2010 Share #6 Â Posted March 15, 2010 My wife will probably take over the d-lux 4 as she likes it a lot (so do I), but I can only carry one every day. sold my M8 and now have the X1 and dlux4 - no regrets. cheers inunnguaq
Lukeit Posted March 15, 2010 Share #7 Â Posted March 15, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Have been using D-Lux 4 since one year, but grew unhappy about it lately when had the chance to compare it with Canon S90: smaller size and excellent IQ especially at hi ISO... I'm thinking about the X1 and eventually will take the place of D-Lux 4 together with my GF1
