Kostia Posted March 10, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 10, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I told you, in a previous thread, that my M8 was maybe lost in Abidjan after I was bamboozled by a false Paypal certificate of payment. Happy ending : Chronopost international did its duty and sent me back the camera from the Abidjan's airport. But I won any miles after this round trip. The M8 is still on sale in the buy & sell section of this forum. Thanks. Kostia (I know how Paypal works usually. Since I am a web surfer, I have returned to spoof@paypal(dot)com a lot of false and forged emails... But, that day, I was negligent. One day and... Be careful every day.) tobey bilek Posted March 11, 2010 Share #3 Posted March 11, 2010 I would think all you have to do is check your bank account. Even my tiny main bank has computer/telephone access to check balances and deposits/withdrawls. We do it daily. That way we don`t worry about false mail
Ivar B Posted March 15, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 15, 2010 I use Norton 360 security software on my PC. When I receive spoof e-mail e.g. false Pay Pal e-mails asking me to give away my ID, I have sometimes checked to see if Norton discovers this, which it has in every case. One needs to exercise own judgement of course, but some of the fake webs are quite well done and there are also viruses around which disguises which web your are logging into,
