jackart Posted March 8, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 8, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Somebody rumored earlier, that Mamiyas new DM will cost less than 10K. Sounded un-believable. Now, the price is official and DM40 is about 20K, body only. The camera is quite nice: 2 shutter system, like S2; 16bit color depth; 6x7 cm LCD; 1 fps shooting speed. MAMIYA: DM33 DM40 and DM56 I really believe, that they should sell it at least 30% less than S2 to be competitive. Jaak
Advertisement Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Hi jackart, Take a look here Mamiya DM33 not under 10K as said earlier. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Vieri Posted March 8, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 8, 2010 Hello Jaak, I am sure it was just a clerical error, but the price is about 20K including the 80 mm f2.8 and the back. Not body only of course...
jackart Posted March 8, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted March 8, 2010 No-no. I'm afraid that price with 80mm lens was 22K: High-speed, medium-format DM40 DSLR puts Mamiya back in the money again -- Engadget Jaak

Gentleman Villain Posted March 8, 2010 Share #5 Posted March 8, 2010 Let the games begin! It's so much fun to watch hasselblad and mamiya battle it out...and hopefully pentax will jump into the fray. Of course, this might sound snobbish to some, but how much longer will shoppers continue to pony up tens of thousands of dollars for a re-packaged 1990s style wedding photographer cam when the S2 is available and high end 35mm DSLRs are getting into the uber-megapixel range? I dunno...let the games begin...It's fun to watch this stuff play out
