deeelite Posted March 8, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 8, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have purchased and registered a black M9 two months ago, and last weekend I have purchased additional M9, this time in steel-gray color. So now, I have two M9s, and I understand that registering an M9 gets me a subscription to the LFI magazine for 6 months, and if I register another M9 will my LFI magazine subscription automatically be extended to 12 months? Because if it doesn’t, I should wait until the current subscription of the magazine runs out and register the camera then. Anyone know anything about this? Advertisement Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Hi deeelite, Take a look here M9 registration and LFI magazine subscription. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Marty Posted March 8, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 8, 2010 I wouldn't rely on it. I think they have multiple copies of my details (probably one for each card sent in the past) and are sending me expiry notices while still continuing the subscriptions. Be safe and wait 6 months. Arif Posted March 9, 2010 Share #5 Posted March 9, 2010 I wouldn't rely on it. I had multiple subscriptions from sending in the forms every time I bought a camera. They are kind enough to let the subscriptions continue but also kind enough to bill you if you cancel at a later stage. Best to stop as soon as you want to avoid paying the extra subscription. I am being told the latest one will expire peacefully
Ed_K Posted March 9, 2010 Share #6 Posted March 9, 2010 Was the offering of subscription on a small piece of paper within the M9 packaging? as i did not see any related offering over their web site.
The_hog Posted March 9, 2010 Share #7 Posted March 9, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Edkvan: Part of the Leica website is the Leica Owners’ Area. There you can register your new M9 with amongst other things, serial number. When finished up pops a web page showing benefits, one of them being 6 free issues of LFI magazine, others being a facility to record your other Leica items and the third being the download of Adobe Lightroom software. rob_w Posted March 9, 2010 Share #8 Posted March 9, 2010 After subscribing to LFI more or less continuously since 1984 I cancelled for the last time in 2008 and since then rely on picking up copies at Leica stores when I visit. Since about 2004 LFI just seem unable to get it right, at least in my case. With more than two years of confusion over subscriptions, credit card charges and the like, phone calls, letters, emails, changes of personnel, I finally gave up. So unless there has been a management change in this area of LFI recently I would recommend proceeding with caution on any subscription arrangements.
