eduardoho Posted March 6, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 6, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone out there have any inkling whether Leica Camera AG intends to develop an underwater/weatherproof casing for X1?.... thereby the reason for such a soft touch aperture/speed knobs & on/off switch? The physical dimension and the smooth boxy lines of the body is very conducive for such application. I know a lots of folks have criticized about the lack of tactile feelings of the control knobs and I was wondering whether if there was a logic behind of why the Leica designers opted to chose this tactility. Let's be reminded that Leica is also a premier manufacturer of rubber armored weather proof line of superlative binoculars (Ultravid/Duovid/Trinovid, etc..) . The feather touch tactility of the fStop/speed dials and the back electronic buttons are serious impediment; the four way shortcut buttons are even worse since it is the way where your thumb rest when you grip the camera with your right hand.
