Am I the only one who hopes that once Leica get over the current focus on churning out M9's that they think about some "A'la Carte" options for the M9?

 

Personally, I would love a Leica MP digital with;

 

No LCD

Cloth shutter.

B&W Sensor

"Double Stroke" charging before each shot (put a small generator in there)

 

At least with Leica this is not something that would be impossible!

May be you are NOT the only one. But I suppose there will be NOONE including you who would be ready to pay an appropriate price for this extra special deluxe version It would be an individually constructed and manufactured item.

Design wise I also would love the look of the MP for my next digital M. No dot etc.

 

No LCD is impossible in a digital camera as there are too many functions requiring it even each you have no need for chimping etc.

 

Cloth shutter is interesting but would need an extension of the iso range to both the high and low side.

 

BW sensor would really be a niche in a niche. But if you buy a bunch of 500 and take the risk for sale it is very likely to happen.

 

A stroke could also improve the ergonomics proved by the success of the thump up.
