Digilux 3 No focus

My son's Digilux 3 stopped focusing, Ni Manual or Auto focusing. The barrel rotates, but no focus. I thought there was a recent post about this & I searched, but found nothing. Does anyone remember this issue or if they have any info, please let me know. Thanks, Ben

It happened to me once and fortunately enough the fix was pretty easy: the diopter was not set to the correct position, so I could not see anything on focus through the Viewfinder!!

Pretty dumb on my side, uh?

Did you clear up the focus problem ? -- i was wondering is this the kit(AF) lens or an R lens with an adpapter, or even another brand lens.

Rob, the kit lens is shot. No workie anymore. Period. The fix is as much as new kit lens. Not worth the bucks. My son almost always has a 50 cron or 24 Elmarit on the D3 body. Apparently there is a ball bearing & flange in the lens that wears out & some other pieces that need to be replaced, but frankly, the lens is not that good to fork over the bucks, IMHO & in his. The 50 cron renders incredible images with the D3. I "borrow" the D3 & use my 50 lux at night & love the images. The images I made in the first blizzard this season was the D3 & the 90 Elmarit, another very fine combo. Hope all is well. Ben

I'm a very happy D3 user, although would like to expand to an M sometime... Excuse my ignorance though but are you refering to R lenses here or M? I would like to expand my range of lenses past the kit lens and Oly lenses I've obtained so far.
