wda Posted March 3, 2010 Share #21 Â Posted March 3, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) pappde's interpolation results essentially mirror my experiments. I think you can find a work-around for those missing distance graduations. The main drawback from my perspective is that the camera cannot store those manual settings when it closes down. That would be very useful because you could instantly return to your favored settings each time you go into action in manual focus mode.

With the exception of losing the setting on shutdown, I find the manual zone focusing very usable with the "clicks." The camera starts up with the focus on infinity and I just count backwards from pappde's figures. It becomes easy and automatic. People forget that this is still a 24mm lens and it has lots of DOF. Infinite Posted March 4, 2010 Share #23  Posted March 4, 2010 Dan, did I understood properly? When in MF 1) The camera starts up with little green dot right under the first loop of the infinite symbol 2) 1 click back is 5 meters 3) 2 clicks back is 3 meters (from the first loop of the infinite) 4) 5 clicks back is 2 meters (from the first loop of the infinite) Thanks…

Between 1 meter and 2 meters there is NINE clicks. THREE cicks from here is 3 meters, FOUR clicks is 5 meters and FIVE clicks is 8 meters and at this time the green dot is aththr first loop of the infinite sign.
