lcw Posted December 15, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi there, yesterday I finally decided to keep my D2 and add a V-Lux1 instead of going down the Digilux 3 road. I decided that I am simply not ready yet to go back to a SLR system. Here are a few of the first shots I made: Welcome, dear visitor! gtmerideth Posted December 15, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 15, 2006 Lars, thanks for the shots. Nice first effort. I just got a vlux as a back up to my M8 when travelling and appreciate seeing your settings. gary
Cyrshot Posted December 15, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 15, 2006 Lars, Thanks for the comparision shots. I recently purchased a vlux1 as well and for the price the camera is really solid. I think you made the right choice over the digilux 3 - a great cam but probably not worth the price for the difference between the digilux 2 -Matt
elansprint72 Posted December 15, 2006 Share #6 Posted December 15, 2006 Lars, Gary, Matt, I'm with you; I have a D2 and just changed an FZ-30 for a V-Lux1; it seems to be a great tool for the money. I'm still finding out what it can do; the opportunity to shoot 1600 ISO with so little noise, relatively, (D2 at 400 ISO being rubbish) ) is something I'm going to explore. Thanks for posting your shots, lets see more from you guys in the photo forums. Cheers, Pete.
Paul Gruyters Posted December 17, 2006 Share #7 Posted December 17, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Interesting. I like the Medium, High, Medium, Low format too! Have you tried the V Lux at 1/2000 shutter speed? I have had a few goes and I find it difficult. Regs. Paul.
lcw Posted December 17, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted December 17, 2006 Hi Paul, so far I had no chance - not enough Sun here. ;-) I find it peculiar that the 1/2000s is only available with certain f stops. As far as the manual goes 1/2000s is only available for F8.0 to F11. Does anyone know why? Personally I'd rather go for the faster shutter than the smaller F stop.
