By the way, does CM stand for Compact M?

Interesting reading. I looked all over the web for a CM review and did not find this page... Even though I have only shot 3 rolls of film with my recently acquired CM, it is growing on me!

There are two things that seems to be inaccurate on that review:

1) The lens on the on the CM is not the same one on the Minilux. The former has 6 blades and whereas the latter has 7 blades. I haven't run a comparison side by side to check if the image quality differs, but at least the bokeh blur circle rendered by the Minilux should more pleasant in theory. I am not a pro, so I might be wrong here.

2) You don't need to manually turn-off the flash in every shot the camera thinks a flash is needed. You can turn the camera for "auto-flash off" permanently, just turning on the flash manually when you need it. Apparently you can do the same in the Minilux.

You can't turn the flash off permanently on the Minilux. There was quite a bit of complaint about it too. The CM did have that capability though.

I really enjoyed my CM, especially the nearly silent shutter. I sold it about 2 months ago as I wasn't using it enough (too many small digital P&Ss) and I was annoyed that Leica had dropped support for a camera of such recent vintage. I ended up keeping my Contax T3, which though now an orphan is still repairable and supported.

If you're looking at a CM I can tell you it is one fine picture taking machine!

You are right. I was referring to Minilux Zoom instead. I am sorry for the confusion.
