I am looking at the Benro Travel Angel as a possible tripod for travel. I would like to use it with the M9 and and a Canon 5d Mark II. Does anyone have any experience with the this tripod and the M9, particularly using it in combination with a digital SLR?

Thanks

I use the Gitzo 1550T which I find is ideal for a lightweight travel tripod that can if necessary hold a Nikon D3s & 70-200VR if necessary. (I replaced the head with a RRS BH-25). I've used this for several years now with both M8 & M9.

I see no reason at all why the Benro shouldn't provide a similar level of performance sine the design looks so similar. If you are worried about stability you just need to hang a bag underneath the tripod.

I just bought a Gitzo 1541t and added a RRS BH30 (new product for RRS) - I think the combo is great. I looked at the BH25 a while ago and didn't like it since it had only one control for pan and lock. the BH30 has independent pan and lock control and is small enough to fit with the 1541t.

hmm, they snuck that one by on the quiet didn't they? I like the look of the BH-30 vs my BH-25!

I have the Gitzo Carbon G1128 tripod (1200 gram) and the Gitzo G1177M ballhead (310 gram). Small and light. Enough for the M9.

I just weighed my Gitzo GT2541/Markins TB-21 Vibration Plate, and a Markins Q Ball Q3 and it is just 1710 grams for a rock solid setup I can get to eye level that has a 27 lb capacity. I use a 5 Series with Wimberly for my long lenses, but this setup will handle anything I can put on it 200mm and less- and it easily fits in my suitcase. I had a lighter setup, and it was considerably affected by wind.

By the way, Feisol was Chinese owned- have owned several. Good tripods for the money. Was it sold?
