filters for summilux 21mm?

What do people usually do for filters on the Summilux 21mm? I've asked around some and have heard things along the lines of "I haven't seen a Series 8 filter in 20 years." UV/haze filters aside, what about Yellow 8 and friends for b&w work?

I don't have the lens (though I'd love one), but I don't see why you couldn't use some of the old standard filters for b&w photography. I'm sure you could get some special order Series 8 filters from B+W or maybe Heliopan.

You can obtain B+W Series 7 and 8 filters from www.foto-huppert.de. I've purchased series 7 for the 24mm Summilux from them. It's best to get the MRC coated versions if you can, their anti-reflection coating is very effective and hard wearing. Enter the catalog numbers I've listed into their search engine to find the filters in the "B+W Filter Shop" section. Use Google language tools to translate if you don't speak german - and do check the information I've given before ordering.

Foto Huppert ship worldwide and do speak/email in english - I've been very satisfied with their service. The only thing is, if a filter isn't in stock it can take a few weeks for them to obtain it.

I see a lot of series 8 filters for 20$-30$ altough some go for 100$ on eBay.

 

I jumped on an original Leitz UV on ebay for 35$.
