c6gowin Posted February 23, 2010 Author Share #2 Posted February 23, 2010 Roger, maybe one of your kite boarding or surfing images could win. It doesn't have to be a Leica photo.

" Pretty standard T&Cs for competitions like this. I know it's tempting to be cynical about everything and have a hissy fit about rights grabbing but Red Bull are hardly likely to be using the competition to start an image library. It's a free to enter competition and hardly unreasonable to allow Red Bull to use entries for promotion within the context of the competition. c6gowin Posted February 26, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted February 26, 2010 The main point of my post was that a Leica camera was the grand prize. Being a Red Bull contest, I think it is good for Leica to get their brand and logo out there in front of the younger crowd.
wildlightphoto Posted February 27, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 27, 2010 Pretty standard T&Cs for competitions like this. I know it's tempting to be cynical about everything and have a hissy fit about rights grabbing No hissy fit, just info. I figure people here are smart enough to decide for themselves whether this is OK or not. ...but Red Bull are hardly likely to be using the competition to start an image library. It's a free to enter competition and hardly unreasonable to allow Red Bull to use entries for promotion within the context of the competition. The contest rules say nothing about their free use of the photos being restricted to within the context of the contest: " this includes – without a restriction in time – the worldwide use of the submitted photos in any media, in particular any print-media (e.g. magazines, newspapers, books) and electronic/digital offline- and online-media" No mention of use restricted to the context of the contest, just free use without a restriction of time in any media.
