Lee Martin Posted February 22, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 22, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Whilst waiting for Aperture to include a raw converter for D-Lux 4 files, (which is now included in version 3), i've been using my D-Lux 4 so that jpeg and Raw files would be recorded at the same time. Now that i have version 3, can anyone tell me if when i now upload the files i will generate two thumbnails for each image, of if the Raw will replace the original downloaded jpeg one ? Hope his makes sense, Thanks in advance Lee Martin
Advertisement Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Hi Lee Martin, Take a look here Raw Files. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted February 23, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 23, 2010 Lee, I can only guess, since I don't have Aperture. Because the JPGs and RWLs both carry different extensions, the system won't confuse them. That is, even though the first part of the name is the same, because the part after the "dot" is different, one won't over-write the other. Some programs by default hide the JPG version, so you see only the RWL version, but both are still there. Suggestion: Copy, say, 20 JPGs into a folder. (Leave the originals where they are for safekeeping.) Then use Aperture to add the matching RWLs to that folder. At that point, in Aperture you'll see which files it shows you. And you'll be able to use the Finder to see what is in the folder so far as the OS is concerned. And I'm sure someone who knows Aperture is just about to pop up with an answer.
