Steve Huff and other Photo sites (i.e. Start a Photo A Day project today... - Micro Four Thirds User Forum ) have commented on or even started "Photo A Day" projects or blogs. Is anyone in the Leica Forum doing this and what are your thoughts on this idea. For the non-pros it would certainly be a reason to keep shooting. I find myself torn between work and family and my desire and urge to take my M9 on a walk ... So I may try a "At Least One Picture A Week" project. We will see - It may be silly after all.

I did a picture a week project back in 2002 when I was living in Paris. You can see it here...

PAW 2002

This was in the days of film of course, and to be honest it could be a pain some weeks developing then scanning the film, then making the edit and putting the web pages together.

I had another go in 2007 - you can see that here...

Snaps from the North Picture A Week - 2007

That was with an M8 - and I only started in the middle of the year. This was much easier than the one in 2002.

I've found that the problem isn't in the first few weeks, it's later when enthusiasm for the project can begin to wane a little. Still, I'm happy I did them, and I think it improved my photographs.

I will start first in my life "Photo a Day" in about one - one and a half month. I feel such need. Photo a Week would be too little challenging for me! As Amy wrote, you must do picture every day, even if you do not feel the mood ;-) Even photo of your foot can result with interesting point of view :-)

A picture a day is far more ambitious than I could ever manage - at least while I'm still working a regular day job. But I'm in my third year of a picture a week.

Like many, I started doing a PAW hoping it would force me to shoot more regularly. Alas, I haven't really found that to be the case. I also started a blog last year, which is very convenient for posting images. Having that new venue, I debated whether to do a PAW again this year - but in the end decided to carry on.

Ambitious it is, but I'll try it at least - I have been frustrated with myself for not taking enough pictures (although I have taken almost 28000 in 10 years it is not the same as a PAD). So I will try to get at least one meaningful picture a week done (aside from family shots...)

I am trying - so far it has been quite a challenge to find meaningful images - I can be walking around for an hour and not be inspired. But I assume that that is part of the exercise - to get good, one must practice. Between work and kids there is little time, so I have my Lumix GF1 with me at all times and my M9 as much as possible.

Yes Michael!

I do not assume, that every single photo must belong to BEST group. No.

It is rather showing reflection of the day, what happened, where I were. What I saw, that maybe others ommited... Things like this.

It may happen, that I would spend whole day at home (eg. on sick leave). Even then, I would try to make a photo of a carpet or door - in new way ;-)

I will let you know when I start.
