I think we're all glad that you're not having problems with your Olympus equipment, but to say that that fact means "there is nothing special about new Noct" is meaningless. sbel, you sound intelligent and interested but half-informed. You might want to learn about how Leica has reached the recognized heights of lens design and production before announcing that you can tell by checking your Olympus that "there is nothing special about new Noct." Posted February 21, 2010 Share #24 Posted February 21, 2010 - the second lens element has an ASPH surface ground to 340 nm accuracy, half the wavelength of light, 1/150 of a human hair; - the completed lens has to be coated "within the hour" to prevent corrosion of the glass setting in; - the lens elements are centred in the mount to a precision of 2 microns - 4 microns and the lens would be unusable; - and so on....
