Lens Cleaning Question...

You must be. Why would you wait around to buy a cleaning kit to get food off your lens. To let it etch while you make up your mind? If it is that bad God gave you a tongue, and hopefully you have a shirt on your back. Anyone would think Leica badge garbage lenses. They arent that bad.

....maybe I was joking, just a little bit, Rob - mind you, you might have started a whole new hobby - but it sure is going to look a bit wierd down at the camera shops....:p

 

Mark - thanks for your kind suggestion - Eclipse sounds good - I'll have a look !!

In the meantime, I suggest you use a Q-Tip to lift some of the grease. If you can't wait for Eclipse - which is (highly volatile) methanol - you can also use iso-propyl alcohol which is not as volatile and will not dry as quickly but will still clean the lens. As always, apply the fluid to the cloth or Q-Tip, not to the lens surface directly.
