What the heck is going on? Leica?

This is good news. However, I would be surprised if the 35mm has already been shipped to Leica USA because the 180mm hadn't made it to the US as of earlier this week. It may not too much of a stretch to believe that both the 35mm and 180mm are in transit or already here at Leica US soon to be out to dealers.

Leica knows they can't get any serious traction in the pro market without a basic lens line-up so I am sure they are working hard to that end. Now, as Marc mentioned, the addition of the 35 will constitute a base system.

Just got official word from Leica about lens availability in the USA.

As expected, the 180 will be coming in the next week or two.

The 35 and 120 lenses, along with the Mulit-Function Handgrip and dual battery Pro Charger will be coming in April.

All of these lenses will be non-CS versions, with CS lenses to follow (don't have exact delivery dates for those yet).

Marc, in this case April may really mean April 2010 since, as I recall, Leica's first announced availability of the S2 and 4 lens rollout would have them all available by end of 2009. Heck, April is just around the corner - it will be here before I get the money together for the lenses.
