india Posted February 10, 2010 Share #23 Posted February 10, 2010 You know andy what you have done you make the viewer follow this wall, which makes you discover the picture from left to right, up and down. But afterwards i think about the this wall Ok this is just a wall? yes, but if you think about how this wall was made, how many people work on this project, they had to make the stones, transport the stones and then put the stones in place and build this wall for how many km I don't know, but one thing I do know they had the strength to fight what ever was given to them !!! no matter how hard the condition may be ! Bon courage pour la suite, warm regards david a great photo and gtreat choice
Ru_di Posted February 10, 2010 Share #24 Posted February 10, 2010 Andy, very nice picture. At which point of the wall was it taken ? I took some pics (nowhere near the quality of yours) on the hadrian wall's museum..... eastside / near the eastcoast..... I wish you all the strength you can muster for the next 6 month! I was following the treatment of very close good friend a year ago and you will need every ounce of strength ....... wish you the best!
andybarton Posted February 11, 2010 Author Share #25 Posted February 11, 2010 Thanks guys. This was taken about 1 mile west if Houseteads, roughly in the middle of the wall, looking East. I am sure there are other opportunities that can be explored along the length and if you're lucky with the weather, there's no finer place to be. Despite the freezing rain shower 15 minutes before this shot, we were there at the right time. More work there is required On "the other matter", so far, so good. I'm not feeling too bad at all, which is a bonus.

elansprint72 Posted February 11, 2010 Share #32 Posted February 11, 2010 Opportunity. Good answer; you and me both. Perhaps a venue for a future NW bloke's walkabout? Of course we Cumbrians were more bothered by the wall built by Lollius Urbicus. Hadrian Schmadrian.
