paulpp Posted February 9, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 9, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Claims support for the D-Lux4 but no mention of the M9, topgether with a host of other features, and with an upgrade process from Aperture 1 or 2. Although confused by a comment from a Beta tester that it does support M9, although not listed amongst supported cameras.
Advertisement Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Hi paulpp, Take a look here Aperture 3 is now available. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wbarker Posted February 9, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 9, 2010 I called my Apple store and it will not be in stock until Wednesday or Thursday this week. Unfortunately, it will arrive right in the midst of a Blizzard in the NE USA. I will be first in line after the storm. Thanks for the heads-up. There is an extensive listing of features and changes on the Apple website. Apple - Aperture - What's new in Aperture 3. Bill
dmacintyre Posted February 9, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 9, 2010 You can buy it as a download. You just need to download the trial then click the "Buy" button on the demo start screen. You have the option to buy or upgrade and the serial is displayed immediately you pay for it. D.
AlbertoDeRoma Posted February 10, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 10, 2010 Does anyone know what the grace period is for people who just (Jan 2, 2010 for me) purchased V.2? Alberto
h00ligan Posted February 10, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 10, 2010 Alberto, beyond even 30 days, I'd guess you are sadly out of luck and would have to pay the $99 for the upgrade. Sorry.
pinetar Posted February 10, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 10, 2010 Someone posted elsewhere that they beat the Store down via phone and got 50% off the upgrade do to a recent purchase. I do like the HD video/still movie feature. Apple - Aperture - In Action - Bill Frakes I have a non-intel G5, what to do?? I just put a raid card in it. Does it make sense to get an intel mini or imac just to use the current software?
paulpp Posted February 11, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted February 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Took the plunge and installed v3. Impressed so far. Took a long time to upgrade my existing Library but did it ok, maintaining the folders, projects, and albums structure, which was my main worry - having to recreate it would have been a pain. Some small problems with extra keuwords appearing from nowhere but they were probably a hang-over from some old images and easy enought to delete them. DTD Posted February 13, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 13, 2010 Right in the middle of something, so I'll leave it a few weeks until I upgrade – however thanks for the link to the video about more advanced slideshows, something that I'm interested in, as I've been using FotoMagico to do. ziggurat Posted February 13, 2010 Share #9 Posted February 13, 2010 Hi Would someone who has downloaded Aperture 3.0 check something out for me please. The new adjustment preset feature allows you to save adjustments and import/export adjustments. Therefore, I presume there must be a folder where these presets are stored. Could someone please have a look and tell me what the file type is? Is it perhaps a .dcp by any chance. Thanks Johnny
paulpp Posted February 19, 2010 Author Share #10 Posted February 19, 2010 Have upraded and find it much improved. However I think there is a real issue with the change to the way versions are now numbered - eveytime you make a new version all the version numbers change and the Master is now called a version. Very very counter-intuitive. If you agree when you try it please send feedback to Apple.

If it will read DMR files then I would give it a try, but not until I know.
leicaman94044 Posted February 21, 2010 Share #12 Posted February 21, 2010 Aperture 3 is no different than Aperture 2 in being able to read .dng files. Works perfect with no glitches. Try the 30 day trial if you have any doubts. No obligation whatsoever. My DMR files have always worked in versions 2 and now 3.
