Advertisement Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Hi Riccis, Take a look here Kodak retires Tri-X 320 film. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tobey bilek Posted February 9, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 9, 2010 Keep in mind this is the "consumer grade" Tri X in 120 and 220. The Tri X profesional in 120 and sheet film is a big seller.

adan Posted February 9, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 9, 2010 Keep in mind this is the "consumer grade" Tri X in 120 and 220. Uh - that turns out not to be the case. It is the Professional Tri-X 120/220 (TXP - "P" for professional), per Kodak's own announcement "Kodak is retiring two medium-format KODAK PROFESSIONAL TRI-X 320 Films." that is discontinued. No 220 version of Tri-X remains at all. The "pro" TXP 320 is now only available in sheet film. In 120 you can get TX (no "P") 400.

Is that correct? I thought the ISO 320 Tri-X was the professional grade version of the film.

rulnacco Posted February 10, 2010 Share #10 Posted February 10, 2010 Aaaigh! There's not a single true black and white film made in 220 anymore. TXP was great stuff. Nothing consumer grade about it at all. I've got a few last rolls of 220 FP4+ and HP5+ that I'd hoarded, which will be used up soon. My ultimate fantasy, certain to go unfulfilled in this universe at least: someone brings back Verichrome Pan in 220!
NB23 Posted February 10, 2010 Share #11 Posted February 10, 2010 Trix 320 is not a good film anyways, IMO. The dynamic range was just horrible. I'm much sadder for the Fuji announcement.

Rgds Ivo Yes, in big red letters on the announcement board (that shows which films will be discontinued) here at various shops in Japan.

Guest AgXlove Posted February 11, 2010 Share #15 Posted February 11, 2010 There have been so many great emulsions and cameras go extinct because of the digital hysteria. It's very sad. I really hated it when Fuji stopped making the GX 617 - I always wanted one but alas, never got hold of one before it was killed off.
