Tulpenwahn Posted February 8, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 8, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) The question is maybe a little stupid. But I just don't know. Do I still need a RAW converter for M9 DNG files if the camera is supported by programs like Lightroom? And what does the converter do better than the image editing program? And: do I need a RAW converter if I use a program that does not officialy support the M9 RAW files (like Aperture) although the files are well accepted by Aperture? What kind of converter do you recommend? I used DXO optics before and was very pleased. But obviously the M9 is not supported.
Advertisement Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Hi Tulpenwahn, Take a look here RAW converter necessary?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wparsonsgisnet Posted February 8, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 8, 2010 If you like Lightroom, that is your converter. Aperture is another converter, as are C1 and PS. I'm not sure what editing program you have. For example, Photoshop has a raw module that does the same thing that Lightroom does (in general). That is, it handles the dng file. The different converters offer different functionality, and PS offers the most. If you already have PS, you can get the converter for free by download. I happen to use Capture One and then PS for some postprocessing. C1 is quite nice. Enjoy LR.
