Which noise reduction program works best for M9 DNG files?

Recommended Posts

The question is in the title. But I have to add that I am using a Mac and Aperture most of the time. What kind experiences do you have especially with plugins, but also with stand-alone programs?

There are at least two noise reduction programs with a very good renown: NoiseNinja and Dfine 2.0 from Nik Software.

I use Aperture with Dfine Nik Software, Inc. | Welcome which is available as an Plug in for Aperture.

You can try it as a demo.

Lightroom 3.0 is close to release, I think. You can try the beta fro free.. Its noise reduction is significantly better than the current LR version (LR2.6.1) for M9.

Neat Image also works well for a more heavy duty application. The effect is very customisable. It is both plug in and a standalone app. I haven't tried any of the other mentioned apps.
