Tulpenwahn Posted February 8, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 8, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) The question is in the title. But I have to add that I am using a Mac and Aperture most of the time. What kind experiences do you have especially with plugins, but also with stand-alone programs? Advertisement Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Hi Tulpenwahn, Take a look here Which noise reduction program works best for M9 DNG files?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wparsonsgisnet Posted February 8, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 8, 2010 I am not a user of Aperture. I use both C1 and PS. I also use Neat Image for noise reduction. I find that I do less and less NR with the M9. The images are really good.
holgerf Posted February 8, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 8, 2010 The question is in the title. But I have to add that I am using a Mac and Aperture most of the time. What kind experiences do you have especially with plugins, but also with stand-alone programs? There are at least two noise reduction programs with a very good renown: NoiseNinja and Dfine 2.0 from Nik Software. I use Aperture with Dfine Nik Software, Inc. | Welcome which is available as an Plug in for Aperture. You can try it as a demo. Best Holger
Guest WPalank Posted February 8, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 8, 2010 I use Dfine by Nik but a lot of the buzz as of late has been about Noisware: Imagenomic - Imagination at Shutter Speed
hoppyman Posted February 8, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 8, 2010 Lightroom 3.0 is close to release, I think. You can try the beta fro free.. Its noise reduction is significantly better than the current LR version (LR2.6.1) for M9. Neat Image also works well for a more heavy duty application. The effect is very customisable. It is both plug in and a standalone app. I haven't tried any of the other mentioned apps.
