wparsonsgisnet Posted February 6, 2010 Share #23 Posted February 6, 2010 Bill, could you please tell more about the reappraisal process? Is it just each your you extend the coverage you send them new prices for the replacement equipment? Yes. For example, the policy just renewed and I'm collecting the list of items to send to my dealer for a reappraisal. When it comes, and I expect the total number to be higher, I'll send the appraisal to my guy and he'll modify the policy and send me a premium increase of some sort. Last year, it was $40. I've never even met this guy, come to think of it, tho we've spoken many times and he came highly recommended. What a gas.
msk2193 Posted February 6, 2010 Share #24 Posted February 6, 2010 I have my equipment underwritten through Chubb in the US. Coverage is worldwide and covers any ciscumstance of loss or damage. And because of this "security" my 500mm DSLR lens rides the aircraft belly on most of my trips!

Jeff S Posted February 7, 2010 Share #26 Posted February 7, 2010 My homeowner policy is underwritten by Chartis, split off from AIG. I formerly had similar coverage with Chubb. The policy covers my camera equipment, with no limit, under most circumstances (loss, theft...home or travel)...except if user fault (e.g., dropped), but is subject to my deductible. The company provides riders as well. For $25,000 coverage, I think the added premium is about $375 annually. Coverage can be adjusted at any time. This covers everything without exception...no deductible. I'll probably add this before my next vacation. Jeff
