Logic108 Posted February 4, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) If You found one in mint condition how much would you consider paying? Also do you think the extra cost of the ver2 is worth it over the Canadian lux?
Advertisement Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Hi Logic108, Take a look here How much would you pay for a ver2 75mm lux?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
yanidel Posted February 4, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 4, 2010 Isn't version 2 the Canadian one ? Version 3 being made in Germany? More than being mint or not, I think #1 criteria should be whether focus is spot on at F1.4. It seems to be a recurring issue. As for price, I paid my version 2 €1500, 6 bits coded, CLA'd and calibrated for the M8/9. I am still debating whether to keep or not since it kind of doubles with my 60 Hex. Logic108 Posted February 4, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted February 4, 2010 Is ver 3 the German one? Thanks for the information. If you do decide to sell yours than I might be interested. How do you like it by the way? Do you have any images on your website that have been taken with this lens?
yanidel Posted February 4, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 4, 2010 I have some shots with 75mm Lux on my website, type it in the search field and they should come up. Below is one with the M9 wide-open (with the center crop). It shows well the rendering and bokeh of this lens. I like it a lot, it is wonderful for portraits wide open and stopped down as sharp as other 75mm lenses. Yet, the 60mm Hexanon has a very similar rendering wide open, is much smaller, easier to use and perfect for the 50mm framelines. So I am not sure yet what I'll do, some thinking to do
Logic108 Posted February 4, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted February 4, 2010 Thanks for your reply. I'll do a search as you suggested. Did you CLA the lens because it was backfocusing? Was the mount changed with the 6 bit coding? Anyway if you decide to sell then send me a PM as I am interested. Thanks.
yanidel Posted February 5, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 5, 2010 Dof is so thin at F1.4, that a very slight front or back focus will show. Seems that tolerances on the M8/M9 need the lens to be perfectly calibrated for it. In the case of my lens, the previous owner did it, cost him 900€ CLA, 6 bits code and adjust apparently. So really if you are to buy one, make sure you can test it before. I'll let you know if I was to sell mine.
