sprice Posted February 3, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 3, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) So, I got my M9 at last. Only a two month wait, so it sounds like I'm lucky. However, the battery drains unbelievably quickly. Put in a fresh battery the weekend, woke up the next morning and its drained. Put in another last night, took 10 pictures and its drained this morning. Anyone else having this issue? Anything to do besides servicing?

lars_bergquist Posted February 3, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 3, 2010 Troubleshooting list: • Have you set "Auto Off" to on (and a reasonably short time)? • Do you manually switch off the camera after use ... • ... and store it so that there is no pressure on the shutter release? • Have you charged the batteries fully, and emptied them, and done this cycle three times for full capacity? If your answers are yes, yes, yes, and yes, then something is wrong. Could be one battery, but not likely two of them at the same time. There could be a camera circuit fault. Recharge a battery fully, put it in the camera, check ('INFO' button) that it is fully charged, switch the camera off, and take a new look after twelve hours. If the battery is even partially drained, go complain with your dealer. The old man from the Age of Carbon-Zinc Batteries
tdtaylor Posted February 3, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 3, 2010 Had a similar problem early on. In one of the setting banks, I did not have Auto off set. Every once in a while I would change to this bank, not realizing the camera would stay on. Worth a look.
