Gerjan Posted January 25, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 25, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) M8/35-1,4 ASPHO My new used M8 I'm using it 2 weeks is a perfect camera. My question is: Three times during taking pictures the shutter did not continue to work. I have seen that when I turn it off, the numbers of resting pictures and battery stayes on. This stops after 10 seconds. When I turn the camera on again, no more problems, it happened 3 times. Is there anyone who has an advice or knows why it happened and what to do:cool:? Thanks for answers, Gerjan
Advertisement Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Hi Gerjan, Take a look here M8 shutter stops. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
brucek Posted January 25, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 25, 2010 Was there a red LED blinking on the back of the camera? It sounds as if you filled the camera's buffer and it was simply saving off the images. During that time the shutter will not fire until the buffer has cleared out enough to store an image. Nicoleica Posted January 25, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 25, 2010 Hi Gerjan, When this occurred, had you been making several photographs in quick succession? If so, then the camera's buffer may have filled, and you just have to wait a few seconds for the camera to finish writing to the SD card and the red light to stop flashing before you can continue. Edit. oops. sorry Brucek. I took too long typing again.
ho_co Posted January 28, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 28, 2010 Gerjan, you're probably running up against the end of the M8 buffer, as the others said. If the "write" diode is blinking when the camera stops shooting, that's what's happening. However, I've recently run up against a similar occurrence which I didn't have before having the M8 shutter "upgraded": Now, sometimes, using the camera in "S" mode with "normal" advance, after I've pressed the release two or three times in succession, pressing it again doesn't work. I have to press two or three times before it will again take a picture. This may or may not be related to the "Jesus stripes" I reported elsewhere. My camera is currently on sojourn to New Jersey for a correction of both these behaviors.
