Battery and an SD HC Q for M8

Hi Folks,

 

First post while waiting for my M8 and wondering.

 

Is it possible to use an alkaline battery (if there is one) as an emergency power source to the rechargable Li-battery? I ordered 2 batteries with my camera but have always liked to have alkaline batteries as backup "just in case."

 

I only see 1 SD HC (4GB) on Leica's list. I realize the market changes rapidly. Has anyone had success using other 4GB SDHC cards in their M8?
