scc Posted January 24, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 24, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Was just wondering what proportion of M9 owners here are using the camera professionally (ie making money) vs those of us (like myself) who just like to take photos for fun. innerimager Posted January 24, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 24, 2010 I always shoot for pleasure. But when I am shooting a job, the M9 is a pleasure to use, and the output is even more so! best....Peter

adan Posted January 24, 2010 Share #8 Posted January 24, 2010 At the Rocky: Photo byline was Andy Piper/Rocky Mountain News. Had quite a few. The Rocky used talent from anywhere on the staff. A sample below, a link here: Car racers and gas prices on Vimeo All pre-M9, of course. Used the M8 for quite a few design-related projects as well as straight news work. A nice copy camera with the 50mm Summicron mounted. If you're really into "investigative reporter" mode - feel free to contact Janet Reeves, formerly Director of Photography at the Rocky, sadly also formerly AME/Photography at the Washington Times (cut with the entire photo staff in Dec. after only 4 months on the job.) likalar Posted January 25, 2010 Share #11 Posted January 25, 2010 Leicas for pure pleasure here, too. Leica Ms since '71 or '72, and 35 years as full time pro (now retired), but I've never made a penny from a Leica image. Pure pleasure, still! Janet Reeves, 9 Photogs Lose Jobs at The Washington Times[/url Thanks for the beta, I knew a lot of those folks over there including Reeves, Osler, Krakel, Guiterrez, etc. I was their Central Rockies guy for years, had a few covers. But Janet's luck, wow! I was so bummed to hear about that, she was great to work with. My girlfriend has a condo in Thornton, we go out to the front range once and awhile, so PM me if you ever want to meet up. By the way, a good piece for your online mag would be the throngs of people who will be out in force in Junction this week for the hearing of that lousy dog dragger. I will be there. Take care Andy and sorry if it seemed like an audit.
