Advertisement Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Hi badmuts32, Take a look here First Leica X1 pictures. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Dutch Posted January 24, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 24, 2010 Nice to see the X1 is around for ordering. I'm in the market for one, but it will be a few months before I decide between that and an M8/28mm. How do you like it? Is it the same as you had expected from the (p)reviews? daytrader Posted January 24, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 24, 2010 Nice First Pictures Henrieke, Question for you and forum member: janmartm. What store in the netherlands did you get your X1 from and do they have an online store? I wonder if they would import an X1 to me to the US? Thanks regardless and have a great day with your X1. badmuts32 Posted January 24, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted January 24, 2010 This afternoon I took the X1 out for a spin. I have included more photo's on my Flickr account Flickr: raadhuisplein's Photostream @ Dutch I like the picture quality of the X1. It is amazing, I like the subtle colours and sharpness of the lens. I don't need a fast autofocus for my style of photography. I do agree with the conclusion that the autofocus is slow. For photographs that need fast focusing I use a Canon 5D with L-lenses. It is very easy to operate the X1 camera. The D-lux 4 takes more time of getting to know the camera. @ daytrader Thank you for your compliments. I did buy my X1 at cameranu. You can check the website out on CameraNU.nl. They recieved Thursday 1 X1, I bought this camera on Saturday. I didn't even pre-order. I was just lucky I think. I don't know when they will recieve more X1 cameras. I also don't know if they export cameras to the US.

I enjoyed looking at your first field test and liked the closeup of snow on ivy. I am a little surprised that Leica Germany are sending out cameras to dealers without pre-orders. I wonder what there policy is? Or maybe your dealer did have an order, but the owner declined delivery. A strange world!
badmuts32 Posted January 24, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted January 24, 2010 @ David Thank you for your compliment. The snow on ivy picture is at this moment my best picture with the X1. The colours are subtle, the lens is sharp and there is a nice bokeh. The shop Cameranu is the official Leica dealer in the Netherlands. I think that explains why the have recieved 1 X1 with a pre order. Last year they also were the first shop in the Netherlands to recieve a M9. Also without a pre order. janmartm Posted January 24, 2010 Share #7 Posted January 24, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nice First Pictures Henrieke, Question for you and forum member: janmartm. What store in the netherlands did you get your X1 from and do they have an online store? I wonder if they would import an X1 to me to the US? Thanks regardless and have a great day with your X1. Josh I bought mine at a local store in The Hague, they don't have an online store. Their market is professionals, they specialize in high-end brands like Leica and Hasselblad. I hope to post some pictures soon. Unfortunately the weather has not been cooperating to create some nice photographs.
